Belleville, Ont. (29/03/2016)- Neata Hull, 42, got an infection in her right leg 2 years ago. She used to drive taxis before that. The doctors weren't able to determine the cause of the infection. "I was very active, I used to drive a cab," says Hull, who now mostly has to rest, as she can't stand for that long.

Belleville, Ont. (02/04/2016)- "We were in Picton at the time, at Picton hospital. They made me sit there for close to a day, saying that the surgeon is gong to come down and look at you. At 4:30, they told me that are shifting me to Belleville, to see a surgeon at 5:30. So then Andrew, my husband, brought me to Belleville. We sat there, and sat there, and every minute it kept getting worse. They didn't even tell me where to put my leg up. When Andy asked when the surgeon was going to see me, they said he was still in surgery. That's when we decided to go to Kingston instead,"says Neata.

Belleville, Ont. (20/03/2016)- "I was in the hospital for 3 or 4 days, trying to find medicine that would actually work. There were two medicines that I had to carry around with me, and a pump which was hooked to me. After sometime they took the intravenous out and put a picc line in, and I had that on for a month and a half," says Neata.

Belleville, Ont. (02/04/2016)- "I can do some things, but I have to sit down. I just cannot stand on my legs. I do dishes, I sit on a chair. I sweep the floor, I vacuum the house, but I do parts at a time. I'll do the bathroom, the little room, my room, and then I'll rest. Then I'll do the kitchen, and come in the living room to vacuum the rug. I sit and vacuum,"says Neata.

Belleville, Ont. (31/03/2016)-Andrew Johnson, Neatas's husband, met her when both of them used to drive cabs for the same company. He took care of her, when she went through the leg surgery. "She was always active. This is difficult for her, because she doesn't like staying in the house all day, but can't move around too much too, because of her leg," says Andrew, who is also planning to apply for disability as he has had 6 heart attacks, and has a lot of medical complications, but doesn't know whether he will be able to pay for rent and food, till then, and even after.

Belleville, Ont. (31/03/2016)- The colour yellow, a fragrance of smoke and dogs barking is what you see when you first enter their house in Belleville. Neata watches tv, and spends time with Patches, her dog, till Andrew comes back from work. She starts cooking for him around 6PM. Inactivity has caused serious deterioration to her health. More Government programs need to have more availability of resources to make people who are disabled, due to any cause, active again.
